이 프로젝트는 40년 된 2층 구조의 단독주택을 사무실로 리모델링한 작업입니다.

건물에 축적된 스트레스를 해소하고 불필요한 부분을 제거한 후, 새로운 구조 보강 작업을 진행했습니다. 대상지는 좁은 대지에 밀집된 건물들 사이에 위치해 있어 내부로 들어오는 채광이 부족하고, 인접한 건물과의 가까운 거리로 인해 창문을 개방할 수 없는 상황이었습니다. 우리는 프라이버시를 유지하면서도 충분한 자연광을 유입할 수 있도록 건물 외부 계단 난간 선에 맞춰 건물 높이만큼의 큰 레이어를 설치했습니다. 이를 통해 마음 편히 사용할 수 없던 2층 내부에서 외부 테라스까지 생활 영역을 확장시키며, 묵직하면서도 따뜻한 공간을 탄생시켰습니다.

콘크리트 패널, 금속 도어와 난간, 화강석 계단, 천연 및 인조 가죽 등 다양한 재료들을 사용하되, 각 재료가 본래의 특성을 유지하며 조화를 이루도록 디자인에 중점을 두었습니다.

This project is a remodeling of a 40-year-old two-story house into an office.

We relieved the accumulated stress of the building by removing unnecessary parts and carried out new structural reinforcement. The site is located in a densely built area on a narrow plot, which limited the amount of natural light entering the building and made it impossible to open windows due to the close proximity of neighboring buildings. To address this, we installed a large layer along the external staircase railing, matching the height of the building, allowing us to bring in ample natural light while maintaining privacy. This solution expanded the living space from the previously underutilized second floor to the external terrace, transforming it into a heavy yet warm environment.

We used various materials such as concrete panels, metal doors and railings, granite stairs, and natural and synthetic leather, focusing on ensuring that each material retains its original characteristics while blending harmoniously with the others.
